The Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi has insisted that there is no crisis within the ranks of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Ajimobi made this remark while addressing reporters after a closed-door meeting held at the government house, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The governor also explained that he was absent during the APC mega governorship rally in Akure, Ondo State last Saturday because he was not in the country.
Recall that Ajimobi, the Lagos governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, his counterpart from Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola, and a national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu were noticeably absent at the APC rally last weekend graced by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Giving reason for his absence, Ajimobi said, “some of us were out of the country. Me for example I was in China”.
The closed-door meeting had in attendance: three APC governors in the South West, namely: Ajimobi, Aregbesola, their Ogun counterpart, Governor Ibikunle Amosun as well as a former interim chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande.
There have been reports of crisis within the ranks of the ruling party, following Tinubu’s demand that the party’s National Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun resign over alleged irregularities in the Ondo primary election.
