Watford manager Walter Mazzarri has given his full backing to Odion Ighalo but also challenged the Super Eagles striker to be ready to take his chance when it comes.
Ighalo had a successful debut campaign last season in the English Premier League, scoring 15 goals, the most by a Watford player even in a PL season.
The Nigerian international has scored just two goals this season, one in the league (against West Ham) and in the English Football League Cup (Gillingham).
"There is no message," Mazzarri replied when asked about Ighalo while previewing Watford's weekend league clash against Stoke City on Thursday.
"What I do is watch my team during training, I study the next opponent and then make my decision on what is the best thing considering all these factors.
"Ighalo has been professional and accepted the decision. When he played, even when he didn't score, he played as well as the whole team has done.
"When we lost and we played badly, he played badly with the whole team, there is no difference.
"I tell him he has to be ready when his moment comes."
