Nigeria’s team to the on-going FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea are confident they will be paid their outstanding entitlements, officials said.
“We are here in camp and we have discussed with the officials. We are expecting that any moment from now, everything will go as planned,” said Falconets media officer Monica Iheakam at the teams Serob Legacy Hotel in Abuja.
“The administrators have promised us they will do us well. They will give us our camp allowances and give the girls transport back home.
“They will pay us before we leave the hotel.”
On Thursday, Falconets defender Mary Ologbosere was admitted to the traumatic unit of an Abuja hospital after suffering from depression when the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) failed to pay them off.
