Banyana Banyana of South Africa striker Noko Matlou expects the majority of the fans at Stade Municipal in Limbe to be rooting for her side when they face the Super Falcons of Nigeria in Tuesday's semifinal clash at the 2016 Africa Women's Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
This is the fourth time the Falcons will be meeting South Africa in the semi-final with the seven-time African champions winning two (2002 and 2014) and losing once (2012).
To get to the semi-finals, the Falcons topped Group B with seven points, while South Africa were runners-up with four points in Group A behind hosts Cameroon.
“We have to first prepare ourselves mentally because we know that it’s war whenever we meet them,” Matlou told iol.co.za.
“If we are mentally stronger, we can beat them because we have done it in the past. The beautiful football that we have played has also seen us win over a number of Cameroonian fans.
"If we continue with that, we will be in a good position because they will continue to back us against Nigeria. Having them in our corner will frustrate Nigeria.”
