The Niger Delta Avengers on Sunday said its strike team resumed attacks on oil facilities in the region because the federal government has refused to honour the ceasefire it entered into with the militant group to allow for a dialogue.
A statement issued by the group’s spokesman, Mudoch Agbinibo, accused the government of using military to undermine the process by ‘unnecessarily’ harassing communities and arrest innocent people in the region. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

They wanted to give you bribes and shut you up and continue with business as usual
ReplyDeleteAnonymous @ 7:55AM. You are ignorant of the issues here. These miscreants in the guise of militants are not concerned about the development of their area. The leaders of all the South-South states who are the representative of Niger Delta have met and tabled all their grievances with the government and had agreed on the path forward to develop the region and end the militancy which is a sustainable solution . However these so called militants are only interested in the government dishing out cash or giving fictitious contracts to the militants as done in the past as anything except these are not acceptable to them. Many of them have been made Billionaires overnight at the detriment of the Niger Delta people and some have in fact used these monies to build companies and school not only out of the Niger Delta area but out of Nigeria in neighboring countries. So any reasonable and intelligent person will support the ongoing cooperation between the Niger Delta people and the government and condemn any renewed militancy, except of course mischief makers who's only intention is to criticize without thinking.
DeleteCall off incessant military invasion of Oporoza, arresting of innocent youths, develope Niger Delta like Abuja, this militancy will end forever.Use of military is just like taking care of the effects,,,,,instead of solving the root cause of the matter. Clueless govt....Niger Delta and Biafra Freedom
ReplyDeleteEven in Freetown in Liberia, there is no free launch. We must learn to follow the due course of law in this country, gone are the days of intimidation. Niger Deltal must receive upgradin and made to be as attractive as New York in America and as tourist attractions, after all if well planned managed, employement would be readily available to all and sundry. God has blessed this country with so much resources but our problem is miss-management of priorities.
