Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Senate Minority leader, representing Akwa Ibom North-west has described as shocking the ways some of his colleagues visited the toilets when the Senate moved for an emergency closed-door session.
He said he understands that some of afraid of Department of State Security Service invasion of their homes thereby resorted to trooping to the toilet during the closed-door session.
Senator Akpabio said: “I understand why many Senators went into the toilet during the debate...because they don't want their houses to be invaded by DSS”.
"The method of arrest should have been managed in such a way that it does not affect judiciary and Nigeria's image".
“I support the motion because if the DSS had acted in accordance with the law, there would have been no uproar”, he said.
Meanwhile, the Senate has condemned gestapo style invasion of houses of judges at night by the DSS.
