Enugu Rangers have won the 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League season after defeating El-Kanemi Warriors 4-0.
Chisom Egbuchulam scored a hat-trick, as Enugu Rangers sealed their first Nigeria Professional Football League title win after 32 years.
Imama Amapakabo’s men could have been named champions last week, after they beat Ikorodu United in Abeokuta, but were made to wait until the last game.
The Flying Antelopes finished on 63 points from 36 matches, three points ahead of second-placed Rivers United.
Both teams will represent Nigeria in next year’s CAF Champions League, while third-placed Wikki Tourists will play in the CAF Confederation Cup.
With this feat, Rangers’ players and coaches are poised to share N40 million earmarked for the NPFL champions by the league management.
Giwa FC, Ikorodu United and Warri Wolves have been relegated from the top division.
However, the status of Heartland FC of Owerri, which abandoned its last league game against Plateau United in Jos, will be determined by the league management.
