The Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers state has said that recent reports by two Justices of the Supreme Court is an indictment on the former Governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi.
Justice Okoro Inyang and Justice Sylvester Ngwuta both of the Supreme Court had fingered Amaechi in an alleged bribery and corruption scandal.
Speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt, the State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Samuel Wanosike said the party in the state has been justified about its argument that the former governor allegedly misappropriated state funds.
Wanosike further said there is a moral burden on President Mohammadu Buhari to prosecute all those mentioned in the statement of the two Supreme Court Justices.
He, however, called for the resignation of Amaechi as the Minister of Transportation, adding that his resignation will give room for proper investigation of the allegations.
“We of the PDP in Rivers state have been vindicated. We are not surprised because we knew Amaechi was stingingly corrupt. Under his watch over three points, something close to trillion was misused.
“President Mohammadu Buhari now the moral burden to let Nigerians know if he is truly fighting corruption.
“If the President knows he’s not shielding corrupt officials especially those who have embezzled fund meant for Rivers state.
“We as a party are asking Amaechi to resign so that he can be properly investigated. We are asking President Mohammadu Buhari to please do the needful for Nigerians,” Wanosike said.

You must be kidding...! How can you expect somebody enjoying the coverage of APC party to be prosecuted or guilty of Corruption...? APC is the party for the saints...Crooks can be found only in other Parties. In APC, nobody is corrupt...! Well,as events are unfolding...
ReplyDeleteThis is why I always say that Nigerians have the kind of brain fish and rats have. What Stella Oduah did while serving as a minister is still fresh in our minds. Goodluck never deemed it fit to ask her to resign, upon all the public outcry. Abba Moro was selling job slots at Immigration for N1000.00 per person, Nigerians did not revolt against Goodluck Jonathan. An exercise that took the lives of about 20 persons nation wide. It was not a sin because it was under Jonathan, Even when Goodluck was giving out compensation packages to the families of those who lost their children, Abba Moro was gladly standing beside Jonathan smiling and helping the former President with handing out the packages, Oh what has befallen this country. May Thunder fire any idiot that says that Amechi should resign. Kitikpa gbagbue unu nine. Bad belle people. As far as I am concerned PDP as a party and its members should just go and hide their faces in shame. Useless people. Has Saraki, Ekweremadu, Dogora, and all other principal officers of the house of represent active resigned? All of you should go to hell. Tell Wike and His Attorney General prosecute Amechi if they found him wanting. Because they could not see anything against Amechi, that's why you guys are trying by fire by force to indict Amechi on the pages of newspapers and subsequently remove him. You guys should be ashamed that Amechi single handedly sacked PDP from Aso Rock. Upon all your intelligence, Certificates, Smartness, Brilliance and the rest, yet you guys could not stop him. Please respect that man called Amechi. He is a hero. If you like, accept it. If you like don't. You all will continue to be wailing wailers. He Amechi doesn't have the kind of brain your Otuoke man and his teams have. And that explains why Amechi could not remain in PDP, because he operates at a higher level that is far higher than you guys. Please be a good sports man.
