Though President Muhammadu Buhari was absent at the wedding of Fatimah, his second daughter, the bride expressed satisfaction with the turnout of guests.
Fatimah got married to Gimba Yau Kumo, a former managing director of Mortgage Bank, in Daura, Katsina state, on Friday.
Speaking with NAN, the bride said she was happy about the turnout of guests.
“I am really surprised about the turn out because it was a short notice to everyone, so seeing so many people, am very happy,” she said.
The marriage was contracted in accordance with Islamic injunctions and was attended by top federal and state government officials.
They included Ibrahim Dankwambo, governor of Gombe, and Muhammad Abubakar, his Bauchi counterpart.
Some of the ministers at the occasion were Abdurrahman Dambazau (interior), Mansur Dan-Ali (defence), and Kayode Fayemi (solid minerals).
Ibrahim Idris, inspector-general of police; Muhammad Babandede, comptroller-general of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS); and Lawal Daura, director-general, Department of State Service, also graced the occasion.
