Zambia coach, Wedson Nyirenda says his players are getting grips with his philosophy as they intensify preparations ahead of the October 9 2018 World Cup qualifying fixture against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Nyirenda took charge of his first training session with the Chipolopolo on Monday following his appointment as head coach of the side early this month.
"I think they are doing fine. They are getting into shape, but as usual, when you are a new coach in a team, some players may be skeptical, but I think things are shaping up and they are doing a good job," Nyirenda told Lusakatimes.com.
"We are trying to give everyone a chance to showcase their talent, and like I said earlier, we are doing two phases at one time; that is to prepare the team for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, while we are also rebuilding the team.
"We need to formulate and work hard to build a team that will stand the test of time."
Meanwhile, the players will be released on Thursday to play for their respective clubs in league games this weekend.
The Chipolopolo will regroup on Sunday when the nine foreign- based players are expected to join their colleagues in camp.
