The Adamawa State Government has announced the death of the state’s Director of Sports, Umar Baleri. The Information Officer of the State Sports Council, Joy Diamond, disclosed this in Yola on Monday. Diamond said Baleri, 56, died at the Federal Medical Centre, Yola, on Sunday.
The deceased was said to have suffered an illness. She said Baleri was appointed director on September 18, 2009. He was survived by three wives and seven children.
