Rangers International of Enugu have emerged as the champions of the Nigeria Professional Football League for the 2015/16 season.
The Flying Antelopes beat Ikorodu United 2-1 away from home at the MKO Abiola Stadium on Sunday to end their 32-year wait for silverware.
Obinna Nwobodo with a stunning strike and Chisom Egbuchulam scored first half goals to help Rangers clinching the League title with a game left to spare.
Wikki Tourists and Rivers United who were all in the hunt for the league shield also failed to get the desired results in their respective games.
While Wikki lost 1-0 in Ibadan against Shooting Stars, Rivers United lost the initiative as they could only play a barren draw at home against Abia Warriors.
Rangers with the win in Abeokuta have an unassailable 60 points. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the flying antelopes , after 32 years is worth it and please keep it up in the continent next season.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations my darling team, the spirit of the Igbo, not Igbokwe the APCinized Igbo.Congrats to those players who made this possible especially the detribalised players in the tram---you are golden
ReplyDeleteThe truth is: they must not lose their last home match against Elkanemi of Maiduguri. If they lose (quite unlikely)and Rivers United win, it will slip off their fingers again.
ReplyDeleteBut the odds are clearly in favour of the flying antelopes. Congratulations in advance, the true international. The pretenders are out of the way now (lol)
Congratulations Rangers International the pride of Enugu please keep it up
ReplyDeleteReport facts please. Rangers need a point from their last game to win. They are not yet champions. Rivers it's still have a mathematical chance
