Nigeria premier league referees have been drafted to the second-tier Nigeria National League (NNL) as officials say they plan to end season in style.
There has been a rash of complaints about the fairness of the officiating in the lower league.
The NNL will resume this weekend across the country after it was suspended for some crucial issues to be attended to, according to league secretary Lawrence Katkem.
“We have appointed premier league referees to officiate the last three rounds of matches so as to avoid any poor officiating,” said Katkem.
“We will now be looking to finish the season in style.”
Four clubs will be promoted to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) with Kwara United and Katsina United among the front runners for a return to top-flight action.
