Matches in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), will go on as scheduled this weekend, despite a court order suspending the competition until further notice.
Justice I.I Kunda of a Plateau State High Court, had delivered the ruling on Wednesday, in a suit brought by Giwa FC seeking reinstatement to the NPFL.
Kunda stated that the League Management Company (LMC) and Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), should not continue with the league, until his earlier order reinstating Giwa FC was followed.
However, chief executive of the LMC, Salihu Abubakar, says the fixtures will go ahead.
“The league will continue, there is no problem,” he said.
“The clubs should go about their business, we will not worry about the legal issues.”
Nine matches have been scheduled for Sunday.
