The League Management Company has imposed fines of N2.7m and N2.5m on Sunshine Stars and Abia Warriors respectively for the disruptive behaviour of their fans in recent matches.
The LMC also fined Enyimba N250,000 for the unruly conduct of the club's masseur, Ifeanyi Kalu, during last weekend's match-day 35 fixture against Niger Tornadoes.
Kalu was also handed a one-year ban from all activities of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
The League body also sent a letter to the Nigeria Football Federation requesting the exclusion of 12 referees from further officiating of NPFL matches pending investigations into their respective performances in recent matches.
Sunshine Stars, aside the hefty fine which was imposed on them due to the unruly behaviour of their fans during their matchday 33 fixture against Heartland, will now serve the one-match ban behind closed door which was earlier imposed as suspended punishment for a similar breach on match-day 17 tie against Warri Wolves.
For Abia Warriors, they will play their next two home matches behind closed doors as a further punishment for the disruptive behaviour of their fans during the match-day 34 clash against FC IfeanyiUbah at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
The clubs have until Friday, September 16 to respond in writing, indicating the acceptance of the charges or electing to appear before a commission.
