Former Nigeria international, Nwankwo Kanu, says he is targeting a hat-trick in the Arsenal Legends versus AC Milan Legends charity game on today (Saturday) at the Emirates.
Kanu bagged a famous hat-trick in a 3-2 comeback win for Arsenal against Chelsea in 1999 at Stamford Bridge.
The charity game, which is aimed at raising £1 million for the Arsenal Foundation, will involve former greats of both clubs.
Expected to feature for the Arsenal Legends include Kanu, David Seaman, Jens Lehmann, Sylvain Wiltord, Ray Parlour, Robert Pires and Freddie Ljungberg, Kolo Toure and Martin Keown.
The duo of Theirry Henry and Patrick Viera will not feature due to other commitments.
For the AC Milan Legends, the likes of Paolo Maldini, Franco Baresi, Cafu, Dida, Demetrio Albertini, Edgar Davids and Daniel Massaro are expected to be in action.
In a question and answer session with Arsenal fans on arsenal.com, Kanu, who won the English Premier League title and the FA Cup with the Gunners, expressed delight having the opportunity to play in front of the fans again.
"It feels great. I'm happy and I'm so excited to see all the fans again at Arsenal Legends," Kanu said.
"It's all about having fun for a good cause. That said, I reckon I could score three goals!"
The former Ajax and Inter Milan player anticipates a tough duel against Maldini.
"All my friends – I want to see if they've still got it. Paolo Maldini will be a challenge too!"
He also states that he was happy for bringing smiles on the faces of Arsenal fans while playing for the London-based club.
