Goalkeeper Carl Ikeme is nursing a back problem and was late in joining the Eagles training camp, but he is most likely to start against Tanzania today.
In the absence of Vincent Enyeama, the 30-year-old Wolverhampton Wanderers shot-stopper has installed himself as Nigeria No 1 since his debut against Tanzania in Dar es Salaam last September.
However, he has endured a few setbacks in his international career lately.
A stomach problem forced him to return to his English base before a crucial AFCON return leg match in Egypt in March and he was one of the last arrivals for today’s came apparently due to a back problem.
Eagles goalkeeper trainer Alloy Agu said:”The doctor and physio worked with him and I have also looked at him. We have done a little stuff with him. So, we will see.”
FC IfeanyiUbah No 1 Ikechukwu Ezenwa will be the cover for the Wolves goalkeeper for this AFCON qualifier in Uyo.
