The president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev Samson Ayokunle, has pleaded with Nigerians to shun hatred and embrace love and peace as Muslims celebrate Eid-el Kabir on Monday, September 12, 2016.
Rev Ayokunle also congratulated Muslims over the celebration in a statement he made available in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city.
According to Vanguard, the Christian leader prayed that “the joy of the celebration shall endure for you all. May the spirit of the season enlarge your capacity to treasure our relationships and secure for us all a prosperous, safe and more secured Nigeria founded on love and sacrifice.
“Though we are in a trying time economically in Nigeria, you must all have the trust that the same God that provided a ram for Abraham in the barren desert is going to provide for you and meet all your needs, not only in the time of this celebration but beyond.
“If you cannot afford to celebrate with what you desire this year, trust God that next year would be better.
“Let us seize this opportunity to pray for peace, unity and progress of our Fatherland, President Buhari and the government of the day to be able to lead us to better days ahead.

This would not stop the Muslims from persecuting Christians and condemn whoever they feel like they should condemn. May I ask you if any Muslim cleric or leader (not politicians) has ever congratulated Christians through print, electronic or social media during Christian festivals? I need to know because I'm not sure
ReplyDeleteNonsense people like you are the real problem to our nation, you will not succeed in your hatred to Muslim Brothers
DeleteYou see what stuff you are made of? You did not prove me wrong. I asked a question. Instead of you to say yes they do or no they don't, all you could say is to insult me. Your response is an evidence of hatred that run in the blood of Muslims
