Over the weekend the crisis escalated when the national leader of party, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, demanded the removal of APC’s national chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, over what he called the latter’s anti-democratic handling of the party affairs.
Tinubu had accused Oyegun of sabotaging the will of democracy in Ondo State by sending the name of Rotimi Akeredolu to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against the decision of the appeal panel that demanded a fresh governorship primary election in the party for the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
