APC candidate Mr. Godwin Obaseki said yesterday that it is immoral for the PDP to field a candidate for the governorship election after allegedly impoverishing the people for ten years.
Obaseki stated this when he met with youths, under the aegis of Grass Youth Initiative, GYI. He lamented that Edo people were meant to believe under the PDP administration that the state was poor, but that Governor Adams Oshiomhole has shown that with good leadership the state is indeed not poor. “And very sadly, one of the products of the PDP destruction in the state is coming out to run for the governorship. If it were in advanced societies, Ize-Iyamu, and his PDP will never rear their heads not to talk of running for election.”
Continuing he said: “We have no reason to be poor as a state. The reason we had developmental challenges under the PDP government in the state, between 1999 to 2007 was because of bad leadership. Now we have the same people angling to produce the governor of the state. We will not allow them.
“In the last seven years, we have been able to show that Edo is viable. The APC-led government has repositioned the state on the path of progress. What we need now is to take it to the next level. We have been able to reconstruct 30 per cent of the Secondary and 50 per cent of our Primary schools. We have improved on the level of infrastructure in the state. “While we will continue with the level of infrastructural development across the state, we will be going further to do more on human empowerment. We will strive hard to change our investment level in agriculture. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
