Nigeria's Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung, has declared a state of emergency in Nigeria's sports sector.
This is coming after the country's dismal performance at the 2016 Olympics in Brazil, coupled with lots of administrative incompetence.
The Nigeria Olympics Committee, afterward compiled a report reviewing the country's horrible outing in Brazil.
Reacting on Thursday, Dalung told newsmen:
“To assure Nigerians and members of the committee that this report will not find uncomfortable accommodation in the archives, I hereby declare a state of emergency in Nigerian sports”.
According to him, Nigeria has to develop sport stars at the grassroots level to compete at national, continental and global levels.
