Ayokunle gave the admonition at the Independence Anniversary Interdenominational Church Service tagged: “Our Help Comes from the Lord’’ held at the National Christian Centre, in Abuja.
He said that CAN had organised three days of prayers and fasting ahead of the anniversary on Saturday, to seek divine intervention concerning the country’s economic predicament. He expressed optimism that better days were ahead, adding however, that all citizens should be involved in the ongoing effort to rebuild Nigeria.
The CAN president noted that besides oil, Nigeria was blessed with other resources that needed to be harnessed to boost the nation’s economic growth. “We have all found ourselves in an economic recession; but we should be wise enough to manage our resources by diversifying the economy.’’
Ayokunle urged the Federal Government to continue to fight the menace of Boko Haram, militants, kidnappers and every other form of violence until they were subdued. “In the society in general, there is evil everywhere; we celebrate people that are half naked and call them celebrities while the righteous is not celebrated.
“We owe it a duty to stand firm and stand in the truth in season and out of season; so, change, repent and be converted,’’ Ayokunle said. Top clerics, government officials and governors among others, attended the service.

Where were you when those in government were looting, did't God tell you to correct them? It is only the citizens that God told you to have hope and let the looters be. All the prophets and the apostles I read about in the bible corrected their kings that was why they always run away, jailed or even killed.
