APC to Buhari - 'Remain focused, don't let PDP distract you'

The blame-game between the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, over the recession in the nation’s economy raged on, yesterday, in Abuja as the ruling party advised President Muhammadu Buhari not to be distracted by the “insensitive comments” of the opposition.

In a sharp rebuke of the PDP, National Secretary of the APC, Mai Mala Buni, said in a statement that for the umpteenth time, the PDP should own up to its transgressions and apologize to Nigerians.

The statement read: “In reacting to the orchestrated and insensitive comments by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on the economy, the All Progressives Congress, APC, urges President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to remain focused in its bold bid to restore economic growth in the country.

“In spite of the PDP’s orchestrated and feeble attempts to blackmail the current administration and twist facts, the reality remains that the prevailing socio-economic hardship being faced by Nigerians is a direct consequence of the mismanagement of the economy and unprecedented looting of the country’s commonwealth perpetrated under its watch. ‘’The PDP’s attempt to turn truth on its head is fraudulent, insensitive and an insult to Nigerians.

For the umpteenth time, the PDP must own up to its transgressions and apologize to Nigerians. “Going forward, the urgent task before President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC administration is to restore the country’s battered economy to health and all legitimate and innovative means are being employed to achieve this in the quickest possible time. “The APC assures Nigerians of the strong political will and commitment of President Buhari’s administration to revive the economy and tackle the nation’s current challenges through suitable and well-thoughtout economic policies, fiscal discipline and socio-political reforms. “Among other strategic economic agenda, diversification of the country’s economy is a priority for the administration.

To this end, President Buhari is aggressively formulating and implementing policies aimed at diversifying Nigeria’s economy from oil to other sectors, such as agriculture, mining and manufacturing. “The APC assures Nigerians that the administration will pull the country out of the present hardships. With the support, cooperation, patience and prayers of Nigerians, the country will reach its deserved potential under our leadership.”

  3. You must have a clue, and vision before you can be able to restore anything you think needs restoring...an economy was handed over to you foolish people,I agree it was not the best economy in the world,at least it was manageable, and businesses were thriving, and the hunger in the land was less...but what did you devilish and visionless people do,you killed it with your useless policies within a year...my advice to you people(APshit) is to listen to emir sanusi,at least that one is bold enough to tell you people the simple truth..I now agree with the school of thought that postulated that you people were not ready for governance, what you people were ready for was violence, but we are watching...
