Super Eagles starlet Alex Iwobi has been ruled out of Arsenal's tricky clash away to English Premier League defending champions Leicester City, his manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed.
The 20-year-old sustained a thigh strain in Arsenal's 4-3 opening day defeat at home to Liverpool and was replaced by Oxlade Chamberlain after 60 minutes.
The Nigerian international joins Aaron Ramsey, Per Mertesacker and Gabriel who will miss the clash at the King Power stadium this weekend.
"Both of them (Ramsey and Iwobi) have minor muscular problems," Wenger told the Arsenal website. "I think they will be out until after the international break but we feared worse – for Iwobi especially.
"It is a thigh problem for Iwobi, and Ramsey is a hamstring that will require two or three weeks. It is better news than we feared at the start."
Iwobi will also miss Nigeria's dead rubber Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania in Uyo, which will be new head coach Gernot Rohr's first match in charge.
