The apex body of the Ijaw nation, the Ijaw National Congress, INC, has declared that it can resolve cases of militancy in the region within 30 days if the Federal Government ceases hostilities in the area.
Speaking yesterday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, the National President of the congress, Chief Charles Harry said the area had lost enough youths owing to the use of military force in the Niger Delta.
“We ask for peace to return to the region; shooting and bombings can be resolved in 30 days.
““If the Federal Government is willing and sincere, we ask for 30 days. Peace can return to the Niger Delta in 24 hours if the right thing is done; if there is truth, faithfulness. Negotiations take time but armistice can be done in 24 hours,” Harry said.

What type of Elders are you? Why did you the innocent souls died for nothing before finding amicable solution to the problem.
ReplyDeleteThat is Nigerians for you. So you elders can solve this crisis. Where were you when this attack on oil facilities was going on? This explains why the Niger Delta region cannot and will never progress. So because Goodluck Jonathan, Nyeson Wike, Government Ekpemupolo, and others had been named as sponsors of Niger Delta Avengers, you have quickly waken up from your sleep to find a solution to the problem so that they won't call more names. You guys should wake up and stop sympathizing with Goodluck Jonathan and his Cohorts because he is a failure from all indications. A word is enough for the wise. Let he who have ears hear. Thank you.
ReplyDeletePlease, translate your comment to English. Niger Deltans have not just awoken; our eyes have been peeled since before independence. We hold the ace. Until there is fairness and equity for the region feeding you, Nigeria will not progress.
