Lagos monarch, Oba Riliwan Akiolu I, on Saturday urged Nigerians to be patient in spite of the hard times in the country, assuring them that all will be well. “I am confident that the economy of the country, under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, will change for good because our president is focused,’’ Akiolu told newsmen in his palace.
The royal father, who spoke during the celebration of the Isese Festival in Isale Eko area of Lagos Island, said that the present hardship was a prelude to a better tomorrow.
“Let us cooperate with the government. Do not take laws into your hands and always inform the security agencies wherever there are criminal activities,’’ Akiolu said. He appealed to the Niger Delta Avengers to stop bombing oil facilities and put their grievances on the table for the government to address.
“I want to use this medium to appeal to the Niger Delta Avengers to give peace a chance. “I agree to some extent with them that certain things have to be done for them, but they just have to give peace a chance and things will work for them. “They should stop and put their grievances on the table and the government will address it. It is not too late to mend, “ Akiolu said. On the festival, Akiolu said it was an inherited custom and tradition which he does not joke with.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Isese festival featured diverse cultural activities to enhance interaction and promote harmony in the state and the country at large. Numerous Lagosians joined in the celebration of the festival, dancing and singing to various deities. (NAN) Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Anyone that does not want to give peace a chance should jump into the lagoon. Hehehehehe!
ReplyDeleteMUMU! So U sabi wetin be 'peace'? What about dying in the LAGOON? Oloshie!
ReplyDeleteNa ur father,ur mama,ur village chief be mumu.We will not give u peace in Lagos if u guys keep thinking what isn't allowed in d east is being done in Lagos. You guys tried that in the north during d asoegu coup by making jest of the dead sadauna by distributing bread with his picture on it.You claim victims all d time for actions u brought on yourselves.Try that nonsense with d crap "Lagos is a no man's land "and watch d same history be relived again.I have never seen any other tribes like d Hausa, the south south, the south west ppl ever come to your territory,or any other place and try to take it over like their own,it is only u guys that do that all d time.I live in the north and the Hausa prefers to rent to other tribes but u guys.It is not always someone else's faults, sometimes u have to look in d mirror sometimes.u guys cry about biafra, what about d sadauna, mamalari, ademulegun, akintola,Okoteyebo who were all killed in cold blood.Alot of ppl lost their lives during d war and that includes d northern, western and south ppl.Ppl died during war,so enough with d nonsense. The government should allow u guys to leave,we are better off without you guys.An argument can be made that you guys fomented the distrust among d tribes as a result off-the-wall first military coup by killing mostly others not from ur tribes. That had a trickle down effect because once the Hausa got into power, they consolidated power and make sure both south east, south west people couldn't get to a certain level in the military where they will become a threat, obasonjo was d one that finally broke this monopoly. So your brought alot of this distrust.Their is no excuse for not having an igbo president in our country, but there is so much distrust for what u guys can do and undo when u get there, that is d elephant in the room and u guys ain't helping it with your actions.Who in their right mind will vote for an igbo candidate when d threat of biafra is hanging over d while country ? U have done more harm to yourselves than other tribes can.
ReplyDeleteYou have only managed to convince me that we should simply split up nigeria. Thank you. I finally get it
DeleteBamidele for your information BH people and north generally see any southern person as yanmiri mind you. So if anything start in the north run for cover oo.or else you are a gunner. The way you sound you have not left south west. Sorry. That is why people who know even in your south West are beginning to talk about true federalism.Mumu! Grow up and leave your blindness cos ethnic hatred can lead you to no where.
ReplyDeleteThis is no ethnic hatred, this is reality.I have seen alot of hate coming from mostly the south south and south east. The south south is understandable because there is no excuse for the south south who are our golden egg to be neglected and look so run down. The south east people I don't get,Jonathan was there for a while but no biafra agitation, all of a sudden their is an Hausa man and their is chaos in the land.If Nigeria is to stick to zoning,an argument can be made that the igbos should be the next zone to produce the next president, but the issue of the biafra nonsense has taken over that, that I wonder if some of your leaders are being paid to sabotage that scenario by keeping u guys occupied with that nonsense.
