Stanley Eguma has praised Nigeria U23 team despite bowing 2-0 to Germany in the semifinal of the Rio Olympics Games.
Dream Team VI faced many challenges on and off the pitch before and during the competition, yet remained focused to seal a place in the last four.
According to Eguma, the team deserve commendation irrespective of what transpires in the third place match against Honduras on Saturday.
“It was a painful loss but the Germans were the better side because they took the chances that fell to their path and defended stoutly throughout the encounter,” Eguma told Goal.
“They kept the Dream Team VI in check for most part of the encounter. We have some positive to take out of the Rio Olympics with the discovery of some very good players that could take over from some of the Super Eagles’ players who are not measuring up.”
