Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets will not be defending their FIFA U-17 World Cup after they were eliminated in an African qualifier on Saturday.
The Chile 2015 champions lost 3-1 to Niger in Niamey in the second leg of their Africa U-17 Cup of Nations qualifier.
The Nigerians, handled by returning coach Manu Garba, had taken a 1-0 lead into the second leg, meaning they are out 3-2 on aggregate.
Only recently, the Flying Eagles were eliminated from the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations after losing their qualifier to Sudan.
