The Iyase of Udo kingdom, Patrick Igbinidu, has placed curses on his subjects who do not vote for All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming Edo state gubernatorial election.
According to reports, the Monarch placed the curse when the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Godwin Obaseki, and his campaign team visited his palace.
The Monarch said, ''The ancestors of the land await those who will vote against the governorship candidate of the APC, Mr Godwin Obaseki. You all have seen it, this is who the Udo people should support, who said he won’t vote for him, he should wait for the ancestors. The entire Udo kingdom should vote for him and anyone who gives his votes to another person is on his own.
“You all should support him because he is the person who Oshiomhole, our benefactor, have chosen to succeed him.”

ReplyDeleteRubbish. Traditional rulers has taken it upon themselves now to campaign and start playing curse on people? Wonders shall never end.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe a Monarch making such a decisive statement...Unless a vedio clip is played to buttress the claim...There is nothing Nigerian politicians can't do to deceive the electorates while seeking their votes...It will be very unfortunate if the claim is true...Well,as events are unfolding...
ReplyDeleteI don't think this decision is wise of a monarch, I think u are suppose to be a father not in this form. Pls, do have a rethink.
ReplyDeleteHRH. with due respect I have to say this "u don't know the meaning of democracy"

ReplyDeleteI am not sure if dis king nos d implication of his statement, what if his kingdom votes for Obaseki and he still lose the election?what happens to his Kingdom, neglect and the governor has power to dethrone him or suspend him for his action.however his curse does not hold water anyway.

ReplyDeleteAt times I wonder the kind of elder we have, is he God? is he the only person in Benin? how much help is he giving to those that are going through hardship in Edo State now? I'm sure APC government is trying every means to retain Edo so as to cover their mess, don't worry, they are going to loose big time because we want to change the change, the suffering is too much and the course will turn out to be blessing, quote me and read my lips
ReplyDeleteNigerians are tired of APC because they themselves are course to the people of Nigeria
