Besides, the commission has put voters who partook in the recent registration exercise that it would soon commence the distribution of the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
Section 20 of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended), provides that the Register of Voters for an election shall be issued not less than 30 days before such an election. Also, Section 34 of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) provides that the list of nominated candidates shall be published not less than thirty days before an election.
INEC in its bulletin obtained by Vanguard also said it would publish the Notice of Election for the Ondo State governorship election scheduled for November 26, on August 26, while commencement of campaigns by Political Parties will commence on the August 28, exactly 90 days to the election, as stipulated by Section 99(1) of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended).
