President of Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick has assured that money to pay the wages of new Super Eagles coach, Paul Le Guen, and other national team coaches will not be a problem.
Speaking with the media in Abuja yesterday, Pinnick stated that the federation has a sponsor that will not only pay the wages of Le Guen but also that of other coaches handling our Nigeria national teams, assuring that paying the coaches will not be a problem.
"The process has been tough and we want to avoid some of the perceived mistakes of the past. We got a partner who will write off the wages of all the coaches, not just whoever is selected (new Super Eagles coach)," Pinnick stated.
"We sent a request for about five coaches and this was granted by the company and at the appropriate time they will make it public through their own medium."
He added: "We wanted to get that done after we crashed out of the last World Cup. Our new partners are expected to also offset all the debts we owe our coaches. We will do that as soon as they show signs of meeting their obligations. The target is to qualify for the World Cup and our partners are in tune with us."
The NFF boss also revealed that the partner will also provide accommodation for Le Guen, adding that by the grace of God, the Super Eagles will be in Russia in 2018 if the players show mental character and patriotism.
Pinnick also stressed that the other teams in Nigeria's World Cup qualifying group are also jittery, pointing out that he would rather play Algeria than Gabon who are desperate to go to their first World Cup
"We are desirous of going to the World Cup and we shall give that desire our best shot. We have worked hard, we have talked with the players and we hope that the coming of a new coach will bring out the best in the players," Pinnick said.
