The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saad Abubakar III on Monday directed Muslims to fast on Tuesday (today) and declared that Eid el-fitr would be observed on Wednesday.
This is contained in a statement signed by Prof. Sambo Wali, the Chairman,Religious Affairs Committee, Sultanate Council and made available to newsmen in Sokoto.
The statement said that the directive followed the non receipt of any report of the sighting of the new moon of the month of Shawwal from the leaders of religious groups as well as the state and national moon sighting committees.
”Sequel to this development, the sultan has approved the reports of the non sighting of the moon and duly declared that the moon of Ramadan has completed its 30 -day circle.

ReplyDeleteTo answer your question, it is an authentic religion from ALMIGHTY ALLAH with a book Alqur'an that was never revised nor standardized yet still talk about what is yet to happen. The religion follow heavenly bodies and not established idolized months and dates as exposed by Femi Aribisala recently. I don't want to go farther so as not to offend others.

I think its time we become mature in our thinking religious sect is a personal choice, until we put this sentiments aside and see ourselves as one before this country can move forward, on judgement day there is no religion, your mode of worship,family or tribe but your personal relationship with God.
