'Stop accusing my ministers of corruption without any evidence - Buhari tells Nigerians

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday advised Nigerians to stop accusing his ministers and other top government officials of corruption without any concrete evidence.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, the President appealed to Nigerians to ignore “orchestrated attempts” to discredit the ministers and other senior government officials.

Specifically, Buhari faulted media report that the immediate past Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, was being investigated over crude oil swap deals and gas lifting during his tenure as GMD of the petroleum corporation.

The President said while he would not spare anybody who soils his hands, Nigerians should wait until such individuals are indicted.

“Terrible and unfounded comments about other people’s integrity are not good. We are not going to spare anybody who soils his hands, but people should please wait till such individuals are indicted,” he said.

Buhari reiterated the administration’s commitment to probity, accountability and integrity.

He promised that transparency remains a watchword, which would never be trifled with.

    1. The money being returned is enough evidence of stealing. If you don’t steal, how can you return money. A lot of them have briefed their lawyers to put in plea bargaining. If you understand what it means.

  4. If I were Buhari, I would have maintained dignified silence. Who are the Ministers he is talking about? Could they have included Rotimi, Fayemi, Raji etc with mountain of petitions against them with EFCC that opted to look elsewhere. Liars will remain same, positions notwithstanding.

    1. Yes, it could have been any of those you mentioned. Do you have concrete evidence against them? Present them to the EFCC. Period. Stop speculating and worrying your brain silly.

    1. Hear yourself! Maybe the President has not seen all those evidences you mentioned. Be a good Nigerian and gather them and present them to either the President or EFCC.

  9. Buhari is the best leader and I see a better country as for people like amaechi it's sad how sentiments can ruin a mans accomplishments. His crime being that he aided buhari win Jonathan wen Jonathan's wife was abusing his office.Till tomorrow ameachi set a benchmark record of infrastructural development in pH compared to the pple before him .What did odilli do? Nothing .

If ameachi ever stole money that fool wike would have exposed him .look at Omoku in rivers state once its six o clock pple are in a hurry to get home to lock themselves in becos of kidnapping and killings. Ameachi asked them during my time una no dey go clubbing? Dem no fit answer

Its just a case of pple choosing barabas over Jesus

  12. GMB threw up a challenge - all of una dey abuse the guy. Not that I am ok with the way things are presently with his govt but make una publish the fact on how those individuals were indicted. All na hear-say till date. Should he just go after them bcos you people asked him to?

To me, let PDP get their acts together. Come back to rule and start exposing all these perceived APC thieves. Until then, you bet they'll be untouchable. So, we just have to have faith and believe APC for now.
