Social media erupts after President Buhari is accused of allegedly wearing a N223, 905 shoe

Earlier today, online news portal, Signal, shared a photo of President Buhari rocking a Gucci shoe which they claim cost $640 and when converted to Naira is valued at N223, 905.

Reacting to the tweets, the PA to the president on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, shared a photo of President Buhari wearing the pair of shoes during his election campaign days and said he didn't just buy them.

However Nigerians on social media are still reacting to the reports that alleged that the president spent N223, 905 on a shoe.

  2. Bringing an issue out where there's none - NONSENSE!
What is wrong with an ex-president wearing a shoe worth 1m let alone 220k? He surely can afford it.
I'm damn sure most commenters here earn an average of 100k salary but uses phone worth more than that. How is that supposed to be an issue? Or any of my business whatsoever?
You can as well wished your president to walk around bare-footed - senseless haters!
Go on PMB, at least you ain't stealing our monies in billions of dollars to acquire properties in choice places all around the world.
    God bless and keep PMB!

  6. I don't see anything wrong with that, our problem is not the expensive shoes it goes beyond that. The president of a country must look good. So buying expensive shoes is not an issue.

  7. It's not wrong for PMB to wear a pair of shoe worth that amount or more, and it shouldn't be an issue. However it becomes an issue when they deceived people by saying that PMB is not rich in their attempt to show that he is modest. I remember one of his Yoruba supporters during the election that told me that Buhari only receives #25,000 per month out of his entitlement as former head of state and a retired army general because he said that the remaining money should be kept in the government treasury. I simply asked him how Buhari could pay children school fees, put food on the table and pay NEPA bill? The man kept quite and walked away.Anyway, it is the character of Nigeria to lie and win favor from people or condemn the opponents. I remember my cousin, one of Buhari's supporters during the election told me that Osibanjo, as former commissioner and a SAN has no house of his own. He is a muslim and lives in Abuja. I'm a Christian, I live in Lagos. So I know Osibajo. So I asked my cousin when did he get to hear about a man Osibanjo, and he said the time Buhari chose him as his running mate. I have known Osibanjo long before him. He has been to my church and I know that he is a big guy, very big guy. I know the class of people he controls, even in church. But to cut short the story, Osibajo later declared his houses, and my cousin was shocked. The next time my cousin visited lagos, he was ashamed of himself because he LIED.

  9. It could have been a gift from a supporter, sympathizer, anyone at all. Condelleza Rice was gifted a diamond studded high carat gold bracelet by Qaddafi. Nigerians should dwell less on trivial matters.
