He, however, added that the President Buhari’s government was responsible for executing the final stages of the project.
The commissioning of the project by President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday had generated a lot of comments from both the supporters of Buhari and former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Supporters of Buhari, who said he had scored another major developmental achievement barely a year in office, and admirers of Jonathan, who said the former leader completed the project before leaving office in May 2015.
Amaechi took to his Twitter handle to weigh in on the matter, saying the project was, in fact, conceived by President Olusegun Obasanjo, who left office nine years ago, and received contributions from successive governments.
“The rail contract was awarded by President Obasanjo, partially executed by President Jonathan and completed by President Buhari,” Amaechi said.
The project was reportedly initiated by the past administration of former president, Goodluck Jonathan.

Can you tell us in monetary term or value, the extent of involvement of Buhari administration in the completion of the rail project admittedly initiated by Jonathan ? I still stand with my belief that APC administration is the worst thing ever happen to Nigeria...Well,as events are unfolding...
