The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy weather conditions over the Central States on Saturday with rains over Abuja, Jos, Kaduna, Minna and Bida in the morning.
The predictions are contained in the Weather Outlook issued by NiMet’s Central Forecast Office (CFO) on Friday in Abuja.
It added that localised thunderstorms would prevail over the region during the late afternoon and evening hours with day time temperatures of 25 to 32 degrees Celsius. The Agency predicted that the Southern states would experience cloudy conditions with prospects of rains over the inland cities of Enugu, Makurdi, Owerri, Benin, Obudu and Awka during morning hours.
It also predicted rains over the coastal cities of Warri, Calabar, Eket, Uyo, Port Harcourt and Yenagoa during the afternoon and evening hours with day time temperatures of 27 to 30 degree Celsius. NiMet also predicted cloudy conditions over the Northern states would experience localised thunderstorms over Maiduguri, Damaturu, Katsina, Kano, Dutse, Bauchi and Potiskum in the morning hours.
It added that Sokoto and Yelwa axis would experience localised thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening hours with day time temperatures of 31 to 34 degree Celsius. According to the prediction, prospects of rains in most places are anticipated in the morning, while thunderstorms may prevail during the afternoon and evening periods.
