Popular militant group in the oil rich Niger Delta region, the Niger Delta Avengers, has refuted media reports that it has opened a new Twitter account, following the shutting down of its account by the micro blogging site, Twitter.
The Avengers in a statement on Tuesday, by its spokesperson, Mudoch Agbinibo, accused government agents and impostors of opening the “fraudulent Twitter accounts in its name.”
NE recalls that yesterday, the Twitter account of the militants, @NDAvengers, was suspended by Twitter. But on Tuesday, two new accounts, @Real_Ndavengers and @NDAvengers1 were created. Agbinibo said: “The @NDAvengers is the only Twitter account we have and it is under suspension from Twitter because we bridged their policy.
@Real_Ndavengers and @NDAvengers1 are all impostors and enemies of the region.
The general public should not listen to those handles because they are government agents against our struggle. “The Date and time shows they took advantage of our suspended account to scam the general public. Please be mindful of these accounts.”
