The executive committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will meet today to discuss the way forward after the way forward after Frenchman Paul Le Guen rejected the country’s offer to lead the Super Eagles.
Chairman NFF technical committee Chris Green disclosed that the executive committee will meet to decide on the next option.
An official statement on Tuesday stated: “We have a plan to take care of that eventuality (Le Guen not agreeing terms).”
The NFF named Le Guen as the country’s coach on Monday only for them to announce on Tuesday that contract negotiations with the former Cameroon and Lyon coach had failed.
They claimed that Le Guen did not wish to live in Nigeria due to security concerns and that a target should not be set for him.
Stakeholders have blasted the poor handling of the appointment of the French coach with most unanimous that the entire NFF board resign after embarrassing the country.
President Amaju Pinnick’s NFF have already failed to qualify Nigeria to two straight AFCONS amid dissatisfaction with the overall performance of the federation since 2014.
