The children of the late former Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi, have lamented the inability of the Federal Government to keep to its promises of giving their father a befitting burial.
Keshi (Jnr), who spoke on behalf of his siblings at the indoor Sports Hall of the Stephen Keshi international Stadium, Asaba, said it is disheartening that the federal government pulled out of the burial at the late hours.
They, however, commended Edo and Delta States for coming to their rescue.
The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Barr. Brutu Otuaro, who represented the Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, said Keshi lived a fulfilled life, having paid his dues in Nigeria and abroad.
The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Monday Igbiya and the member representing Aniochi/ Oshimili Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Amaechi Mrskpor, urged Nigerians to always honour efficiency which the late Keshi was known for.
Keshi’s body is currently lying in state at the palace of the Obi of Illah, before the interment. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

When Keshi's bears IKECHUKWU how will this tribalist zoo republic participate? If Keshi had been Mohammed or Allah they would have given him National Burial.
ReplyDeleteTrue, this is Buhari's regime!
DeleteThis goes to show that our politicians don't care about anyone else. How can they turn their back on KEshi's family at a time like this?
ReplyDeleteIts really unfortunate, but whether they patiscipate or not Skipo is a hero.He has made his mark as a player and as a coach.it doesn't matter.I love keshi somuch.its notonly you his children that are touched by his demise ,am personally touched by his death.I don't know how to express it,but I wish keshi is still alive. But God who is faithful knows why he has to go by now.we are all console on the facts that he lived a good life.God bless you all.
DeleteVery sad! this is the worst government in the history of Nigeria so far, this present government has nothing to offer always avoiding responsibility, i just close my eyes they count time for Buhari and his government, i pray with all my heart with their time up
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, Keshi was not in the employment of the FGN when he died, he was a private citizen and as such just like every other Nigerian.
ReplyDeleteFor his contributions to the Super Eagles, the NFF and other football bodies should be at the forefront and not FGN.
They pulled out because he bears Okechukwu. Wicked & clueless govt
