FIFA president, Gianni Infantino, has predicted that in a few years time, Nigeria will be among the best football playing nations in the world.
Infantino said Nigeria's position in FIFA ranking cannot take away the massive development that is ongoing in the country's football, adding that as
back-to-back champions of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup, Nigerians have every reason to look at the future with hope.
"I have seen that Nigerians' passion and love for football is high, high up there and with the developmental programme the Nigerian football authorities have in place, I see Nigeria moving up to challenge the best in the world," the FIFA Boss stated
"As World Cup Under-17 defending champions, Nigeria's future is very bright if the talents are properly monitored and managed. I see a bright future for the game in Nigeria and I also believe the managing of the game is in good hands with the present leadership of Nigerian football."
The 46-year old Italian said he would be monitoring development of the game in Nigeria and would be available for advise and support when necessary, adding that his trip to Nigeria was very interesting and revealing.
