The Osun State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has described as stringent the conditions given by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, for the release of Senator Iyiola Omisore, who it arrested in Abuja on Sunday morning after a raid on his house.
A statement by the party’s spokesman in Osun, Prince Diran Odeyemi, said the EFCC in a letter handed over to Senator Omisore after several hours of interrogation, asked him to produce two serving directors in any of the federal ministries or agency with landed property in Maitama or Asokoro area of Abuja. The sureties must submit the original C of O of the said landed properties to the commission.
“We know too well of a standing instruction to serving civil servants not to stand as sureties in any matter and wonder why EFCC is giving a condition they have already blocked. We will approach the court to seek Senator Omisore’s release and wonder why EFCC has turned itself to an agent of persecution instead of prosecution,” he said.
This is coming as the party pooh poohed the government’s anti-corruption crusade, which it said was meant to weaken the opposition ahead of the 2019 general elections. Reacting to Omisore’s arrest, Osun State PDP Chairman, Soji Adagunodo, in a statement said: “It is evident with each passing day that the Buhari administration is using its much-vaunted war against graft as a tool to decimate the camp of those who disagree with it on any issue and ensure that it remains politically relevant as another general election draws nearer.” Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

PDP is still dreaming big about winning in 2019. First of all, you people should accept the fact that you raped this country with unprecedented corruption. Umaru Dikko and Adisa Akinloye are saints compared with all PDP people
ReplyDeleteDid I hear Osun State PDP say the bail conditions for Omisore is stringent? Of course it'll, because, the EFCC knows that Omisore could jump bail, he could also go underground. Remember, he disappeared when he was gentlemanly invited for a chat. Let's see who'll stand for him without burning his fingers.
ReplyDeletedo you know how many inmates in Osun state prison with more stringent bail conditions? He should have been asked to provide 2 dead presidents to physically stand for his bail. He has no moral justification to alter a complain after stealing public food.
