Didier Deschamps will remain in charge of France for their upcoming World Cup qualifying campaign despite defeat in Sunday night's Euro 2016 final.
The hosts were beaten 1-0 by Portugal after extra time at the Stade de France but Deschamps is not planning to step down, pointing out that his contract runs through the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
"It is lined up like that," said the 47-year-old. "I am not going to think about myself.
"I will need time to digest everything, the players are going to start again at their clubs.
"I am going to analyse things with my staff and we will start again on what is waiting for us in two years."
Deschamps lifted the World Cup in 1998 during his playing days and has restored France's fortunes since taking charge in 2012.
And the 47-year-old thinks there is more to come from his side, which features plenty of young talent, spearheaded by players such as Player of the Tournament Antoine Griezmann and Paul Pogba.
"Compared to two years ago, when we were in the World Cup [quarter-final], here we were in a final," said Deschamps.
"The young ones will get better and I am very proud by what has been achieved by this group. We went to the end. We did not get the reward but I have an extraordinary squad available."
