Buhari's government allows persecution of Christians - CAN

Rev. Musa Asake, the General Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria, has claimed that there is a grand plan to wipe out Christians in Nigeria, going by recent events.

According to him, the federal government seems to favour one religion. "Look at how appointments are shared in this government (of President Muhammadu Buhari); tell me how many Christians are there?" he queried.

"All the security agencies in this country are in the hands of northerners. Don’t we have Christians in the North? Was it only Muslims who voted for the president in the last presidential election? Evidently, Christians have been marginalised and they are being brutalised. Christians are being treated as if we are second-citizens in this country which is sad and unfortunate but our God is not asleep.

"From the way I see things happening, there is a grand plan to wipe out Christians in this country but by the grace of God it will not come to pass. That is why I am saying if the government is not going to protect us, then we have no choice but to protect ourselves. We will not continue to fold our hands and accept being killed for no reason. These killings are going on as usual and we have got to a point to say ‘enough is enough.’ Everybody has to defend themselves.

    2. Anonymous 2:54 PM and yet you always claim Islam is a religion of peace. What is peaceful about wiping people out? You better repent and give your life to Christ so that you may be able to dwell in love and peace with other people in the world

  3. Rev. If you are looking for appointment just enter politics, don't use religious body to cause confusion because of your personal political interest. When former President Jonathan become Christian president going from one church to another receiving prophecy, who complain? When the president and former CAN president moved out billions of Naira, what did you say? So pls just concentrate on your God's work.

  5. Pastor Awake, you are not fair to Buhari. He will not give jet plane as birthday gift to any pastor like GEJ this time around, the money is not even there. Name the Northerners in his private staff vis a vis their religion, then compare it with the ℅ Christians in the north. How many Ibo Muslims have you ever seen in government? The North is even trying.

  7. Any religion that targets the termination of human lives, shedding human blood to impose its own is a satanic religion - it is not of God. Nigeria is a secular nation as such freedom of worship should not be tampered with.
Such lingering attempt has always suffered major setback and any current move cannot escape divine obstruction, in fact God has never stopped dealing ruthlessly with any recalcitrant government.

  8. Be you Muslim or Christian we all serve same God. When I read somebody say he or they will sure wipe out all Christian I begin to wonder where and how such a person come up with such idea. The truth be said. Buhari is not acting as a true leader. As President you don't have to be sentimental in the issue of religion. What is wrong is wrong and what is bad is bad no matter who the perpetrators are. Take the issue of the woman killed in Kano. As a Christian you don't have to interfair in Muslim religious issues, leave them to their fate and belief. For them to kill her is unjustified. Bible and Quran says leave vengeance to God. I expect Buhari to come out and speak against killing and the hoodlums to be brought to justice. Our so called Christian and Muslims leaders should always preach peace and speak against killing of innocent citizens. God did not ask anybody to kill for him to justify your religious believe. We should allow peace reign and glorify his Holy Name.

    1. Prince Ebose christians and Muslims certainly don't serve the same god. The God of Christians has a son Jesus Christ. Does the god of the muslims have a son called Jesus Christ? How then are they the same?

  9. Buhari from the onset is a fanatics to the core.During his military rule, he took his deputy a muslim man. If not for OBJ he preferred Fashola to Osibanjo. That is why he render Osibanjo useless in his government. Let Nigerian watch, God will surely fight him. He deplored the fulani herdsmen to the south, west, and middle belt to test their prowess to see whether they can takeover Nigeria for Islam. If he dont drop his evil agenda against the christian in Nigeria he will not finish his tenure. The antichrist of our time is Buhari!!!!
