Willliam was rescued by the police on Tuesday and has reunited with the High Commission and his family.
The Force Public Relations, Donald Awunah, confirmed it last night in an SMS.
It read, “The ambassador was released at about 16:00hrs along Abuja- Kaduna Road.
“Following credible intelligence and technical support, there was intense police activities on both land and air patrol within the area. The General is feasibly in good condition.
“The acting IGP, Ibrahim Idris, wishes to assure the members of the Diplomatic Corps and other foreign nationals of their safety and security in Nigeria.”

Look at the Heading, saying the diplomat was rescued, whilst the story says he was released along Abuja-Kaduna Road!!
ReplyDeleteShameful that he was kidnapped. Obviously a ransome was paid. If police on the highway will face looking at the persons in the car and what they are carrying instead of concentrating on fault in particulars in order to extract egunje they will be able to prevent incidents like this. This new IGP must completely reorientate the rank and file of the Police. Their attitude everyday on the highway is disgraceful. Even as I prepare to travel to Ekiti tomorrow I am dreading meeting them on the highway with all their shenanigans just to obtain money from you.
