Fourteen months after taking over the reins of power in Aso Villa, former Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on New Media, Reno Omokri has reminded Vice President Yemi Osinbajo of a statement credited to him countdown to the 2015 election, where he said “Jonathan was leading a visionless government.”
Omokri, who took to his Facebook page yesterday, asked Vice President Osinbajo if he may now have seen that leading a nation like Nigeria was not easy, particularly given the state of the nation under the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Osinbajo was said to have made the scathing statement in a series of tweets via his verified Twitter handle @ProfOsinbajo on December 22, 2014. The Vice President referring to the Jonathan’s administration then, wrote: “Nigeria is great and her citizens give so much, yet get nothing in return from today’s inadequate and visionless leadership.”
But in a flashback yesterday, Omokri wrote: “After a year in power, Professor Yemi Osinbajo may now see it is not easy to lead a nation.
“Does he still maintain this accusation against Goodluck Jonathan he made last year? May I remind him that the two main achievements his boss (President Buhari) has celebrated in the last year are the Treasury Single Account and the commissioning of the Abuja-Kaduna fast rail. “Both of them were largely the hand work of the gentleman he called visionless. My prayer is that the Vice President should read Psalm 15. As a man of God, he should know the implication of that Psalm.” However, the Goodnews Bible version of Psalm 15:1-5 reads: “LORD, who may enter your Temple? Who may worship on Zion, your sacred hill? “Those who obey God in everything and always do what is right, whose words are true and sincere, and who do not slander others…” Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Those who put aside the work of God for whatever vacation,be it politics or service for country should think again whether they deserve to be called men of God or man of God. There is no greater calling than to tender God's flock. What flock is this man tendering in Aso Rock. God is not with those who neglect His work for any other. What more can be important to God?
ReplyDeletePlease put on your thinking cap. The man was a full time Lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, that is the job he set aside to become VP. He is still a Pastor in the RCCG. A lot of people are ignorant of how Pastoring works in RCCG. You need to enlighten yourselves. It is not Catholicism. Mind you he is not the General Overseer of the church. Mores
DeleteI concur.
ReplyDeleteis it not true that you guys were running a vision less government
ReplyDeleteHas the present government any vision? They try to take one step forward but find themselves taking ten steps backyard.
DeleteWhere is the vision in Buhari's govt? @ anonymous 6:40am
DeleteYour useless tribe, been part of the delay in implementing some useful policies...after your campaign of culmination you'll be back to your senses.
DeleteTalk is cheap. Politics is like being a mechanic. There's no way you get engaged without being soiled. But the difference is that some achieve results others further spoil even the good parts. That's the VP Osinbajo. He's eaten the pie and can never be the same. Pity
ReplyDeletePDP Broke Into The Treasury and Completely Emptied it – Oshiomhole Laments
ReplyDeletehttp://www.nigerianeye.com/2016/07/pdp-broke-into-treasury-and-completely.html?m=1
Any Leader that wants to claim to be a Visionary Leader can never and will never allow his/her Nation's Treasury to be Looted and Callously Plundered the way it's been so far revealed and thus uncontested by even GEJ himself. Revelations also show that GEJ was a key party to the whole process in that he signed the memos and instruments used in plundering right from CBN as if it's ATM.
Please tell Nigerians what is the Vision in the Callous Looting and Plundering.
Right now, farm lands and soak away pits are richer than the savings accounts of Nigerians because that's where most of the money looted during GEJ led administration are buried.
Reno Omokri I thus submit is an error to Nigeria and He's nothing but a Son of Belial.
The question is "Are you One?" cos I am happy to declare to you that I am not a son of Belial that will support or condone the callous looting and plundering of our Nation's Treasury.
This is simply ridiculous. So the TSA and rail project shows Jonatahn has vision? Remember both were the initiatives of OBJ which Jonathan could not even complete in 6 yrs of Govt. In fact it is clearer today than ever that Jonathan was truly a vision less and clueless leader. He presided over 6 yrs or surplus in Nigeria but have nothing tangible to show for it ( Oil pride rose to above 140$ the highest in history that we may not see for another 25 yrs, yet he did not build wealth or infrastructure but wasted our years of surplus! OBJ-hate him if you like established ICPC, EFCC among many other institutions still functioning today, even Yar'adua created Min. Of Niger Delta. Jonathan created none and almost destroyed what was created. His tribal and blind ethnic supporters will say the Governors forced him. That is the excuse of a weak and vision less leader.
ReplyDeleteIf the critics of Buhari says what happens in the past admin is no excuse for non Performance ( which I agree with) then it's hypocritical to want to use today's event to Launder Jonathan's irredeemably battered image ! This admin is having challenges but you cannot say it is visionless. Buhari promised to fight both BH and Corruption. Even his critics agree he is doing both with all vigor. You may not agree with his method or results but a sane person cannot disagree that he is working hard on Both. That is vision.
And pls can you look for job elsewhere and stop irritating the poor masses with this type of meaningless comparisons. Nigeria is bigger than anyone and any party . And the notion that after 1 year we must be bombarded with relating Nigeria to PDP and Jonathan must stop. Nigeria is greater than any person ( including Jonathan and Buhari) and it's not about personalities.
And quoting scriptures and misapplying it is just spiritual ignorance.
It's not a meaningless comparison...when you are outside governance, you will think it's easy, but when you get in,you realise talk is really cheap...fashola said any govt that can provide stable electricity in 6 months to the people is an irresponsible govt, after one year, what is happening...that is to say we are correct if we kall this govt an irresponsible one...they thought it was easy to govern a complex nation like Nigeria, and they kept running there mouth, now they are there, its from one useless excuse to another...mind you every govt had what it created as you rightly pointed out...Obasanjo created efcc and icpc, and they are still functioning today...gej created 12 federal universities, and the last I checked, they have not yet closed down..hope we shall see what buhari creates after he leaves...he should channel his energy into trying to leave a legacy behind, not all this revenge mission he is on,cuz history will definitely judge..
DeleteU must be Hausa or Yoruba APC
DeleteIf God has a special book for born again Christians, Osinbajo's name would have been angrily removed by God the day he joined Nigeria politics. Omokiri, like you said, as a Christian and a pastor for that matter, he forgot the implications of slandering and judging others. He is an example of a football spectator who plays better than the player while watching from a distance while play nonsense when drafted into the field
ReplyDeleteMake them catch you, you go sabi how far. Ask Metu
ReplyDeleteA good reminder to a so called pastor politician.
ReplyDeleteHaba Omokro! After how many, 14 months! With all the corruption fighting back of your avenging brothers, you think this wonderful VP is like your GeJ/Sambo combo. Pls ask God for forgiveness for yourself knowing you worked with the previous administration and you called yourself a man of God. Your master and his cronies (not sure of your own yet) shared the gala and the booze. Now no money in the kitty.Imagine if Buhari/Osinbajo met the country with all that wealth?
ReplyDeletePastor fa! Pastor ko! Pastor ni!
