At a press briefing in Ekiti state yesterday June 22nd, Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state spoke on how his 2014 governorship election campaign was funded. According to him, Zenith bank, donations and sales of political souvenirs all formed the sources of the funds he used for his campaign. He denied claims of receiving any money from former NSA, Sambo Dasuki...
"My election was funded two years ago by Zenith bank plc, fund raising, donations from friends and associates as well as sales of campaign souvenirs. I have no financial transacts whatsoever with the office of the National Security Adviser under Colonel Sambo Dasuki rtd and former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro either by cash, cheque or electronic transfer.
I challenge the EFCC to publish statements made by Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, his son or any other person associated with money from the NSA office where they claimed that they gave me money for the election"he said
