Senate President Bukola Saraki has recovered N52millon from his accountant just as he orders deportation of members of his domestic staff reportedly involved in the theft of N300m in his bedroom in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The Kwara Police Command recovered the money from one "Alhaji Ishmail," reported to be Saraki’s domestic accountant.
The police investigators have so far refused to disclose their findings concerning the theft of the huge sum of money, in two tranches, last month.
According to the police, several persons in connection with the theft have been arrested.
The names of the suspects were given as Isaac Nuhu, Oyeniyi Oluwatoyin, Johnson Oluwafemi, Ayoko Ohibu, Tunde Abolade, Buhari Mufutau, Sunday Dalumo, Abel Gbewa, Ajani Bamidele. Ojo Makonde, Femi Adebayo, Haruan Sheidu, Alimi Yinusa, Muhammed Gambari, Emile Abayomi, Shola Owolabi, Nathaniel Ahouangnimon, Akinboboye, Cletus and Achwuche.
Nationals of Benin Republic on the list are being deported by the NIS at the instance of Mr. Saraki.
