Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo has rescinded a decision to stay away from the Rio Olympics, according to reports.
Omeruo, a central defender who played this past season on loan in Turkey, is 22 and so he will not be one of the three over-aged players allowed for this U23 tournament in August.
However, he had earlier opted out, insisting he was working on medical advise to rest a troublesome groin problem.
“Kenneth has given his word to be at the Olympics,” a top official told said.
“He will most certainly be a worthy replacement for injured Segun Oduduwa.”
