Real Madrid confirm Morata buy from Juventus

Spanish giant Real Madrid have reportedly finally informed Juventus of their intention to exercise the buy-back clause in the contract of star striker Alvaro Morata, two seasons after initially selling the young Spanish striker to the Italian giants.

According to reports, Real have officially communicated to Juve that they will pay the already agreed upon €30m to take Morata back to the Bernabeu.

The clause had an expiry date of 30th June and there had been increasing doubt over whether Real would meet the deadline, but it now appears that hasn't been a problem. It comes as the clubs also continue to talk over the future of midfield enforcer Paul Pogba.

The Morata saga is far from over, however. Los Blancos must now decide if they want to keep him for themselves next season or sell him on for a quick and significant profit.

The 23-year-old has garnered interest from Arsenal in recent months, while Chelsea appear to have been the front-runner for the last couple of weeks should the player be sold. If Real do choose to sell, they could potentially double their €30m investment to €60m in the space of however long it take to conclude a deal.
