Factional presidents of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick and Chris Giwa are set to reach a comprise on the leadership tussle of the NFF, though it remains unclear what resolutions were reached at the National Assembly, as both men met with the leadership of the Committee behind closed doors.
Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on sports, Goni Bukar, confirmed that the meeting will continue next Tuesday at the House of Representatives chambers, where Pinnick and Giwa are expected to reach a compromise.
“What was discussed was not made public as only Giwa, Pinnck and the committee sat and discussed, but both of them have been advised to collaborate and they are expected to reach a compromise next week,” a National Assembly source informed.
Giwa said he was excited by the intervention of House of Reps members, adding that the meeting was very fruitful.
“We had a very fruitful meeting on the way forward and as I will always say we must try and mend fences and I think that is the way we are looking at the matter,” he stated.
“The media will be duly informed of developments in the coming days as another meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday next week.”
Both Pinnick and Giwa have been locked in a legal tussle over who the rightful leader of Nigerian football is, but the issues could now be resolved if both men agree to a compromise.
